CARE TIPS

Since we share with you the passion and care for your vehicle, in this space we want to

put at your disposal our experience and give you our tips for keeping your vehicle in good

working order.

Exterior cleaning: As with cars, the vehicle should be washed with plenty of water and a

neutral shampoo and then dried with a chamois leather.

For windows use neutral soap and water for cleaning: never use alcohol. Never use

alcohol based products or abrasives. Use a sponge, a soft cloth or a chamois leather and

plenty of water.

If necessary, use special PVC detergents on the surfaces.

Close the windows and hatches properly and take care not to direct the jet of water at the

vents or the refrigerator grille.

Remove tar stains, bird droppings, insects, rust and other substances that could damage

the paintwork.

We recommend that pressure washers and high temperatures should never be used to

wash the vehicle.

Make sure that you have carefully shut all the openings before washing the vehicle.

Do not use corrosive or abrasive products. Do not use stiff brushes, hard cloths or any-

thing else that could corrode or scratch the polished surfaces.

Lubricate the hinges of the doors and outer flaps regularly with acid-free products to keep

them in good working order.

In winter, the salt used to grit the roads damages the lower part of the vehicle. Therefore,

in winter especially, extra care should be taken over cleaning the underbody and all the

mechanical parts subject to aggression from underneath.

Maintenance of the fiberglass

The fiberglass surfaces are resistant to most common detergents. However, we do advise

you not to use any products or abrasives that could adversely affect the surfaces under

any circumstances.

If the surface of the motorhome appears matt, the area involved should be treated with

non abrasive bodywork polish.

For vehicles equipped with fiberglass components, clean and polish the bodywork in the

same way as for a car, using products available on the market.

CLEANING THE INTERIOR

If they are used correctly and cleaned regularly, the materials inside your motorhome will

stay fresh for a long time.

When cleaning the various components we recommended you to follow the instructions

given below.

Cushion covers, curtains and fabrics in general. Dry clean to avoid shrinking and fading.

Furniture

Clean the surfaces of the furniture with a slightly damp, soft cloth.

Wash basins and burners

Use water and a cream detergent with no abrasive particles.

Bath and thermoformed elements

Only use a solution of soap and water. Never use abrasive or alcohol based products

under any circumstances

Floor: Use a solution of neutral soap and lukewarm water; rub gently with a non-abrasive

sponge and rinse with lukewarm or cold water.

Fresh water tank

At least once a month it is a good idea to clean the tank and the ducts thoroughly using

liquid disinfectant that is available from chemists. Remember that it is really not a good

idea to drink the water in the fresh water tank. The tank has an inner filler for cleaning,

located in the top part of the tank.

Waste water tank

After using the motorhome always clean the waste water tank using detergent and rinse

with plenty of water.

WATER SYSTEM

Check the tightening of the pipe bands (where fitted) by the consumers regularly (pump,

taps, boiler, wash basin drains, etc.), especially the hot water pipes. Clean the external

filter regularly or when the pressure of the water coming out of the taps is reduced even

though there is water in the tank and the pump is working. Clean the tap filters first and

then, if necessary, clean the pump filter. Switch off the water pump switch in the electronic

control unit control panel. Drain the tank and all the hydraulic system pipes.

Short inactivity

If the motorhome is not going to be used for a short period (about a month), observe the

following precautions: Remove perishable foods. Clean the inside of the refrigerator and

leave the door ajar so that air can circulate. Wash the motorhome thoroughly, both inside

and out.  Completely recharge the batteries leaving the motorhome connected to a 220V

grid for about 12hours. Disconnect the auxiliary battery using the dedicated battery

disconnection switch. Leave the air intakes clear. Check that all the gas taps for the

appliances on board and the main cylinder valve are shut. Drain the hydraulic system

completely and clean it. Drain both the tanks and the boiler and make sure that the pipes

are empty. Check that the boiler safety/discharge valve is open so that it is not consuming

any current and draining the battery. Lift up the windscreen wiper blades away from the

glass. Check the tire inflation pressure. Before using the motorhome again, wash the fresh

water tank and the hot and cold water supply pipes carefully and rinse thoroughly and then

check the tire inflation pressure again.

Prolonged inactivity

If the motorhome is not going to be used for a long period (more than a month), observe

the following additional  precautions:

Cover the cushions with a cloth made from a breathable fabric to protect them from the

sun. It is advisable to fill the fuel tank completely, to prevent the formation of condensation

which, producing corrosion, can cause serious damage to the fuel system. If possible, park

the motorhome in a covered area, which is dry and well ventilated.

If possible, raise the motorhome on stands or move it, once a month, to prevent the tires

becoming distorted. Engage first gear and check that the handbrake is not applied. If the

motorhome is parked in a secure place and has an alarm system, switch off the alarm

using the remote control to prevent the battery from becoming run down quickly.

Disconnect the auxiliary battery using the dedicated battery disconnection switch.

Disconnect the negative lead from the service battery pole and check the charge every

three months. Recharge the batteries when necessary. If the batteries are not

disconnected, check the charge once a month and keep it at the maximum level.  Remove

the gas cylinders even if they are completely empty and place them in a covered, well

ventilated area. It is advisable to place a camphor wick near the refrigerator burner located

inside the lower outer air grille to prevent insects blocking the nozzle.

Apply talc to the windscreen wiper blades and lift them away from the glass.
